This begonia likes partial shade and warm conditions.

It comes from a tropical climate. In the wild, it is used to a humidity level of around 70% and does not tolerate drier air well in the long term. We therefore recommend keeping it in a terrarium or in a plant cabinet. It could perhaps also be kept as a houseplant in good conditions.

It grows best in a very loose and airy substrate.

It must be fertilized regularly, otherwise it often throws off most of the leaves. To do this, apply a gentle complete fertilizer at half concentration about every 2 weeks. A potassium-rich fertilizer (e.g. for cacti) produces stronger stems and more robust leaves.
